The Gemstone Bulldogge Experience
Sioux Falls, South Dakota
I’d truly love to share more about our program so you can see if we feel like the right fit for you and your family 🤍
I’m Alli, the breeder behind Gemstone Bulldogges. Our dogs are raised right in our home—not a kennel—surrounded by everyday life, kids, sounds, and real moments.
Everything we do is very intentional and very personal to us. Our goal isn’t just to send home a puppy… it’s to raise a confident, well-prepared companion and support you for their entire life.
---
We Run Our Program Differently
Most breeders send puppies home at 8 weeks.
We do not.
Our puppies go home at 12 weeks of age, and that is one of the biggest cornerstones of our program.
Why?
Because those extra weeks truly matter—more than most people realize.
From birth to 12 weeks, we are focused on developing:
- Confidence
- Emotional stability
- Proper movement and structure
- Socialization and desensitization
- Brain development and problem-solving
Those early weeks are when neural pathways are forming the fastest. What they experience during this time quite literally helps shape how they respond to the world for the rest of their life.
We’re not just raising puppies—we’re shaping future dogs.
---
Early Development: Where It All Begins
We start with:
- ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) from days 3–18
- ESI (Early Scent Introduction) shortly after
These are gentle, research-backed protocols that help support:
- Stronger nervous system development
- Increased stress tolerance
- Improved cardiovascular and immune function
- Better adaptability in new environments
We also place a big emphasis on early brain development, especially the frontal lobe—which plays a major role in emotional regulation, learning, and behavior.
From the very beginning, puppies are thoughtfully exposed to:
- Sounds, textures, and environments
- Household activity and children
- Real-life situations in a safe, positive way
This helps build curiosity and confidence instead of fear.
---
The Critical Window: 8–12 Weeks
Around 7–8 weeks, puppies enter a 4-week structured program through Platinum Puppy Training Academy.
They work closely with our on-staff behaviorist:
Charity Knowles
Canine nutritionist, animal behaviorist, naturopath & service dog trainer (30+ years experience)
During this time, puppies develop:
- Crate (kennel) training
- Potty training (most go home nearly fully trained)
- Foundational obedience
- No bite, no jump, no excessive barking
- Confidence and social skills
This stage overlaps with the first fear phase (8–12 weeks)—a critical developmental window.
Instead of sending puppies home during that sensitive time, we guide them through it with structured exposure, positive reinforcement, and calm leadership.
That support can make a lifelong difference in how a dog handles stress, new environments, and change.

Structure & Movement Matter
This is something we care deeply about.
We incorporate early proprioceptive training—helping puppies understand how to use their bodies correctly.
This includes exercises that help them:
- Turn with their waist instead of putting stress on their knees
- Build coordination, balance, and body awareness
- Develop proper muscle memory early on
For bulldog breeds, this matters. It can play a role in helping reduce the risk of ACL/CCL injuries later in life.
We’re always thinking long-term—not just puppy stage.
---
Health, Genetics & Immune Support
We take health seriously—not just in the moment, but for the lifetime of the dog.
- All puppies are genetically clear of known diseases
- Parents are health tested, including excellent PennHIP scores
- Puppies go home:
- Fully vaccinated (3 boosters + rabies)
- Microchipped
- With a veterinary health certificate
We also focus on supporting the immune system early, because what you build in those first weeks carries into adulthood.
---
Matching the Right Puppy to the Right Home
At around 4 weeks old, each puppy is evaluated alongside our behaviorist, Charity.
Based on your application, we thoughtfully match you with the puppy that best fits your:
- Lifestyle
- Energy level
- Goals
We also identify puppies that may be suited for:
- Service work
- Therapy roles
- Emotional support
This helps create a smoother transition and a stronger long-term bond.
---
What Goes Home With Your Puppy
Every puppy comes with a thoughtfully curated go-home package:
- Current food
- Toys and enrichment items
- Training treats
- Littermate blanket for comfort
- Puppy registration with the IOEBA
- One month of complimentary pet insurance
- Health certificate from our vet
- Guidance on nutrition, supplements, and care
- And a few extra surprises 🤍

The Relationship Doesn’t End at Go-Home
This is one of the biggest pieces of our program.
You don’t just get a puppy—you get a team.
- Lifetime support from me as your breeder
- Lifetime guidance from Charity as our behaviorist
While your puppy is in training, you’ll receive:
- Regular updates
- Progress reports
- Open communication
And before your puppy comes home, we make sure you feel prepared, confident, and supported—not overwhelmed
Application & Waitlist
We do have an application process—not to make things difficult, but because this relationship matters to us.
We want it to feel right on both sides.
- Priority Waitlist (first pick order): reservation required
- General Waitlist: no reservation required
At the End of the Day…
I know this program isn’t for everyone.
Some people don’t want to wait 12 weeks.
Some people aren’t looking for this level of intention.
And that’s okay.
But for the families who are…
This experience is different.
Because these puppies aren’t just something we raise and send home.
They are part of our home.
Part of our hearts.
And always a part of us.
They’re not just puppies…
They’re family.
And they always will be.
With love and intention,
Gemstone Bulldogges ✨🐾
